Maison Jansen ebonized writing desk of French origin from the mid-20th century. The composition features a central mirror above the writing surface framed by symmetrical drawer elements. A long drawer is set below the writing surface with further storage incorporated into the apron. The desk is raised on tapering legs with gilt accents and fitted with brass hardware. Finely applied gilt line detailing contrasts the ebonized surface throughout.
Condition
Brass banding lifting along the right side. Minor wear consistent with age and use is present elsewhere. Minor age-related spotting to the mirror surface, patina and scratches. Subtle age-related discoloration.
